
Skip Freeman
Technical Director
Volleyball is in Skip Freeman’s DNA. For more than 35 years, he has played and/or coached at the highest-level of the game.
Skip grew up in the early days of club volleyball, starting his playing career at the age of 10. He excelled in the sport and played club through this younger years and made the Junior national team as a sophomore in high school.. This experience exposed him to the top echelon of the volleyball world, at the international level. He went to play Division 1 volleyball for Pepperdine University Men’s Volleyball Team but because of an illness he never was able to realize that dream of playing for the Waves. Following this setback , Skip could not escape his passion for the game and burning desire to prove himself as one of the best in the sport. He worked and trained tirelessly to get himself into peak condition, which allowed him to earn a contract to play volleyball internationally one of the top leagues. Skip played for teams in Russia, France, and Italy, and had short seasons in Japan and Korea.
As a coach, his career began in 1995 with USVBA club teams. In the past three decades, he has served as the technical director of two clubs in Oklahoma, and two clubs in Texas. He helped build each club from the ground up, and he designed both the coach and player curriculums for each club. As a coach, he has qualified numerous teams to the GJNC, winning several qualifier championships and medals. Additionally, he served as the Head Coach for Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s Division II Volleyball Team (2007-2009) and still holds the record for most wins in a season as a coach for the program.
In 2016 Skip and Carlos Rosado started Dallas Arsenal together as owners and directors. He won a USAV championship in their inaugural season with the 18s team. He has qualified six teams in his time with Arsenal and in 2022 won his second medal at nationals with a silver medal with the 18s. He has also taken multiple teams to the Puerto Rican Jeep National Championships winning a bronze medal in 2017 in the Open Division. This season will be Skip’s 30th season on the sidelines. In his long career he has qualified 22 teams for USAV Nationals and has taken 10 teams to the AAU championships. Skip has also sent over 100 players to play collegiately. He is known as one of the better setting coaches in the country.

- Led all aspects of training for players and coaches throughout the club
- Dozens of players went on to the next level to play in college
Southeastern Oklahoma State University – Women’s Volleyball Head Coach, Durant, Ok 2007 – 2009
- Led the Savage Storm to its two best seasons in school history, and set the school record for most wins in a season
- Led five players to All-Conference selections, including two first team selections and the 2008 Freshman of the Year in the LSC Conference
