Chris Delgado

Chris Delgado returns to the volleyball scene after being sidelined from a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and temporary paralysis for four years. He comes with 11 years of club coaching experience, four years of collegiate experience as a player, and is in his second year of high school coaching.

Chris’s player experience was at Grandview University in Des Moines, Iowa after transfering from Hannibal La-Grange University and became Grandview’s first graduating senior. Chris held down the starting libero position during the 2011-2013 seasons at Grand View, and in 2013 he earned the NAIA MAMVIC West “Libero of The Week” award, averaging 3.8 digs per set and passing a steady 2.8 on serve receive.

He previously spent two seasons mentoring athletes on Blocksport’s top 18 Nike team where the team received an invitation to USA Junior Nationals and finished in the the top 10 in 2014 and 2015. He spend a season assisting at EPA and as head coach at Rockwall Heat. He is going into his 8th season with Arsenal assisting with several successful teams through the years.

“Transitioning from player to coach has been a blast. Since my days as a player are behind me, I am stoked to be given the opportunity to teach and mentor athletes today. Defense and serve receive are everything to me. I guess you could say I know a thing or two about passing a volleyball.  It made me money and it paid for school. In the game of volleyball; passing is everything,” said Chris.

Coach Chris is still on the mend and relearning all things volleyball after his TBI, but has made major progress over the years and has displayed great success in his journey! He is currently the freshman head coach and varsity assistant for North Forney Volleyball where he also teaches Entrepreneurship.
